Pros

Free Parsley membership, work from home days

Cons

It’s a start up and it shows. Absolutely no process structure and in need of a real operations edit. People are generally nice, but it is very much a “live the Parsley way” and drink the juice environment. It makes sense for the mission their on, but you have to truly love the lifestyle they promote to love working there. Work never stops. People don’t have concern for life outside of work. They preach that you will be left alone during your vacation days. That was not the case with me. Worked through holidays. Some people are passively toxic and will insult you in front of others. I was asked to create presentations that never got reviewed. They have no idea how to capacity check and often asked more and more of people and treated them like they were incapable for not pulling off the asks when it’s just not possible within normal work hours. Sorry, not everyone loves the company enough to work beyond a normal work shift.

Pros

While salary is low for the industry, that’s only by a little.

Cons

This place is chaotic at best, and frequently toxic. Robin Berzin cares deeply about her product to the point where she will emotionally abuse those who work directly with her on a cares deeply about her product to the point where she will emotionally abuse those who work directly with her on a regular basis, which could even include individual contributors if she wants to insert herself. Deadlines and priorities are chosen based on her anxiety and desire to make something go live rather than what makes sense. There is constant, relentless chaos and overwork, very little work life balance and no sense of safety about your job. *Important - This is also an unsafe environment for queer people. Time and time again, unsafe to speak up.
