Pros

Free membership. Really that’s it

Cons

Everything else. I worked here nearly 4 years ago and had hoped my bad experience was only a reflection of my time during the company’s initial growth. 4 years later the trauma from this place still eats at me, and I’m shocked the ratings have only gotten worse than better. The majority of the people I met at Parsley have left the company. There are very little “lifers,” and I’m starting to see the most devoted people, the doctors, are starting to leave too. The most common theme amongst recent reviews is the “toxic positivity” culture that seems to have remained. It is a place that keeps promoting positive thinking and work life balance, but it is non existent. If you question anything, you are looked upon as an enemy rather than a realist pointing out inefficiencies that could make employee and consumer experience better. I frankly had more nervous breakdowns here than other places I’ve worked. I pride myself on asking critical questions before I accept a job, but I definitely felt baited and switched on my role. I was told certain departments were at my disposal to help me succeed; they were reluctant and frankly emotionally abusive. The level of toxicity from the creative leadership at the time was palpable and because favoritism a thing at PH, favorited people were never reprimanded. I worked holidays, nights, weekends. Burnout came very fast. I constantly voiced I needed help and felt ostracized for voicing that. To this day, I feel like I was pushed to quit so they could replace me with someone willing to “yes mam” to everything they wanted. For a place that emphasizes holistic health, it destroys the mental, and frankly physical, health of their own employees. I still have trauma from some pretty abusive Slack messages from leadership, yes even the CEO. I held this back for so many years hoping Parsley could improve. It doesn’t appear it has despite an additional 4 years of opportunity to grow. I have read through the company replies to these reviews and a handful are full of toxic defensiveness and a lack of desire to change. if you value your health, do not work at Parsley Health. It is a prime example of toxic start ups that ruin the reputation of other decent start up cultures.

Pros

While salary is low for the industry, that’s only by a little.

Cons

This place is chaotic at best, and frequently toxic. Robin Berzin cares deeply about her product to the point where she will emotionally abuse those who work directly with her on a cares deeply about her product to the point where she will emotionally abuse those who work directly with her on a regular basis, which could even include individual contributors if she wants to insert herself. Deadlines and priorities are chosen based on her anxiety and desire to make something go live rather than what makes sense. There is constant, relentless chaos and overwork, very little work life balance and no sense of safety about your job. *Important - This is also an unsafe environment for queer people. Time and time again, unsafe to speak up.
