Pros

- The people: worked with some of the best, most talented professionals in my career. - Opportunity for learning: PH's tech stack was quite modern and exciting. Lots of opportunity to grow as an engineer. - Mission: The medical mission of holistic, root-cause based healthcare seems genuine.

Cons

- 5 rounds of layoffs in 2 years has cut departments like engineering and design team by quite a lot more than half. Long tenure professionals are let go. New hires have no motivation to stay and resignation rate is high as well. Parsley is in a constant people crisis. - Work culture and people dynamics are rapidly deteriorating. People are tired, morale is low, and there is no sense of belonging to the larger team. With looming layoffs and the sense job insecurity, interpersonal relationships feel more and more cut-throat and antagonistic. - Macroeconomic environment: PH is suffering from the larger financial crisis affecting the tech/VC sector at large, obviously. - Disconnect between Medical/Operational leadership and Product/Engineering: CEO seems to care about the former and not much about the latter.

Pros

While salary is low for the industry, that’s only by a little.

Cons

This place is chaotic at best, and frequently toxic. Robin Berzin cares deeply about her product to the point where she will emotionally abuse those who work directly with her on a cares deeply about her product to the point where she will emotionally abuse those who work directly with her on a regular basis, which could even include individual contributors if she wants to insert herself. Deadlines and priorities are chosen based on her anxiety and desire to make something go live rather than what makes sense. There is constant, relentless chaos and overwork, very little work life balance and no sense of safety about your job. *Important - This is also an unsafe environment for queer people. Time and time again, unsafe to speak up.
