Pros
I've been working at Path for about 8 months now and have been fortunate enough to see the company grow at an incredible pace. It feels like I learn more in a month than I did in the entirety of my PhD program. Everyone is really laid back and very considerate of each other. At the same time we are all hyper focused on researching and implementing the most advanced technology. The excitement is very much contagious and has fostered some of the most impressive research I've seen, especially in the areas of computer vision, artificial intelligence, and deep reinforcement learning. The part that really differentiates Path from other companies is that the research you do today is implemented in the product tomorrow. Having worked at companies such as Tesla, I can honestly say that if you like working on challenging problems, continuously learning, and having an immediate impact on a product, there is really no other company that compares.
Cons
The interview process can be challenging and lengthy at times. However it is worth it once you make it to the other side as you feel an immediate sense of belonging and acceptance. The hours can be longer than the normal 9 to 5 but the company is very flexible with time off and vacation.
