Pros
So, i would say the #1 reason to work at path as a software engineer is if you're a driven individual interested in the robotics space who wants to learn and do more difficult work than adding buttons to web pages doing crud operations. The place has no shortage of interesting problems that might not have a copy paste solution. I came in with a modest software/math background and have had exposure to really interesting robotics and vision concepts. I'm not bored like I have been at other positions, I know that may not be a top priority for everyone but this is the #1 reason I would recommend path to someone. The other big selling points are amazing benefits and working with a world class team. I know everywhere I've worked says the team is special but Path legitimately stands out to me as having so many crazy smart people. This place has prospects.
Cons
I've been at path since the very early stages and honestly early on it was a bit rough with expectations of working extra to meet insane deadlines. If you see reviews like that they weren't wrong at the time, but things have gotten much better in that department since we've grown so much in the last 6 months. The double edged sword of working at a cool place with robots and bleeding edge tech is the learning curve can be steep and there are still some rough deadlines (at the team/company level) for unique problems being solved (i.e. you can't just google them). Definitely not for the faint of heart.
