Pros

Well known brand, so some people get inbound leads REALLY great colleagues

Cons

Pay is GROSSLY below average for the industry, and they don't pay more for tenured employees. Pay at Paychex is GROSSLY below the pay for equivalent roles at Paycor. Operations is completely disconnected from sales, so they make changes that can drastically impact your income with absolutely no thought for you or your family. They allow managers to hire for roles with one set of expectations (territory, comp structure, training schedule, ramp period), and then change those expectations after you start. You have a quota from BEFORE day one in some divisions. If you join a mid-month training class be sure to ask and get in writing when your quota will start!

Pros

Paychex is a great company to work for. I’ve held multiple roles over 20+ years. There are always ups and downs, but for every position, manager, decision I disagree with, there are ten others that are outstanding.

Cons

It’s a large company with many opportunities to grow, but smaller companies may offer higher compensation.

Pros

Remote work is a plus. Collaboration from peers is more plus than minus. Documentation of business technology was great for the most part.

Cons

Worse holiday observance company I ever worked for. Pay is low for what is asked. Work/life balance was good until 2025. Mid-level leadership and above is not ideal. I had little guidance when I started so, especially from manager so had to figure things out with help of peers.
