Pros
- Honestly, you'll see quite a few reviews for Pearson citing the good nature of some of the employees - these people are telling the truth. If it wasn't for the fact that I had bills to pay, I would have left Pearson within 6 months. However, my co-workers made everything so much better. While you obviously won't get along with everyone, having genuinely caring co-workers makes a rather dreary situation feel so much better. - The lunch options are usually okay - I will say that management DOES want you to succeed but they're so overworked because of layoffs and other bureaucratic nonsense that they don't have much time to sit down with you to go over goals and expectations.
Cons
- The company appears to be going downhill, quickly. Pearson is playing the ultimate game of catch up in the digital learning sphere and I wonder if they will ever succeed in this undertaking. - The compensation is absolutely laughable and promotions are nonexistent because most positions are being outsourced. Many people have been promised promotions only to have their positions outsourced. This is a terrible, terrible look for the company and morale is low because of it. - Layoffs are commonplace at Pearson - this is obviously very bad for morale. - The internal systems and databases we used are ancient and, therefore, never really work. I do think these are being upgraded though. Whether or not those upgraded systems will work is yet to be seen. - If you're looking for a management position, be prepared to work 7 days a week. The work/life balance for higher-ups is nonexistent.
