This is specific to the Online and Blended Learning line of Business which operate the k12 connections academy schools. Bullying is rampant, especially at the leadership level. It's common place for individuals who speak up to be fired or phased out of the org. Those who stay have stopped speaking up for fear or retribution, or just sheer survival. It's heartbreaking to watch a company who supposedly cares about kids end up embodying the same hostile behavior that we see in schools.
If you are a creative person, and are passionate about making a difference and feeling heard and respected - I recommend you look elsewhere. Maybe after a few years this plague will clear itself from the system but it's not happening in the next year. For now, just know that most of the employees who have been picked for quarterly awards are now out of the organization. They have left voluntarily or have been phased out for speaking up for what is right.
