Pros
Flexible work hours, solid HR business partners, remote-first work environment, opportunity to work on different projects/business opportunities. People - before most were laid off in massive RIF.
Cons
senior leadership "bullies" with deplorable people motivation and management skills. Senior leader called out others during meetings in aggressive ways and used unprofessional language, and he bragged about doing so to others on the team. One executive managed to keep his job even after 7 years of no profits in HIS business unit despite those leaders below him being forced out. Hello......problem was at the top people. For years. Sinking ship in higher ed. DE&I - lots of talk but very little action at senior leadership or within the organization at all. In 2022 - the top 4 leaders of my org from CEO down were all white, bald men over/at 50. Pearson acquires companies and technology but does a very poor job of making the acquisition work within the Pearson portfolio. It's like my kids who buy clothes yet never wear them. What a waste. Pearson is focused on the way things used to be done instead of the way they can be done. Easy access to data to gauge your effectiveness is only available to the top-tier products/teams because of the lack of investment in relevant martech to ensure all marketing teams have access to timely and meaningful data to guide marketing decisions.
