Pros
I am a field nurse, and even though I don't spend regular time at the office, I am continually supported in the field by coworkers, Case Managers, Leadership and members of every department who are always available. There is someone on call in each department 24 hours a day.
The support started on day one with an amazing and very thorough orientation including detailed training specific to the patients I was going to be caring for. Training in the home was excellent and they made sure I was totally comfortable with the specific patient and job duties before leaving me solo, Training is ongoing with CEU opportunities available and annual competencies to assure we all stay current and are the best that we can be.
And when I do come to the office, I am welcomed and acknowledged. The atmosphere at the office is contagiously positive and energetic.
Communication is a HUGE strength as well as interdepartmental teamwork and an over-all total focus on the child as our common purpose. Best. Job. Ever!
Cons
I have yet to find a con to working for PHS!
