I'm still fairly new to the company and haven't found my place yet. It is sometimes a challenge relating to younger colleagues who assume that I don't know how to care for a client because I'm new to my position. I value their experience in the home, but I don't know that they recognize the experience I bring to my position. When I was training in the home, I would have appreciated having someone explain to me the family dynamics and expectations for care. I was given tips like Mom doesn't like the client on her tummy too long, but nothing that really gave me insight into how the family functions or how my position fits in the structure. These aren't really cons to working at PHS, just observations from my early experiences set forth for consideration by others who may be looking at a mid-career path change.
