Pros
There are so few. It did feel good knowing the company was caring for NICU babies and maybe something you did contributed to that. But if you work in the office you don't get to see the patient outcomes, so for admin staff the pros of working at MEDNAX are few and far between.
Cons
Never in my life have I worked for such an unethical organization. Executives who protect each other, don't want anyone to speak up unless it's to kiss their behinds, and would rather the most talented people walk out the door if it means they have to admit they could or should have been doing things differently for a long time. They'll bring in consultants to "fix" things but nothing gets fixed. Instead, tons of money is spent and people lose their jobs to be able to afford the consulting bills. Every few months someone in the C-suite decides millions of dollars need to be "found" somewhere, so cuts start to happen. Yet these same executives continue getting salary and equity increases as people around them lose their jobs. You get promoted for being back-handed and incompetent, so right now the organization is being led by the people that gossiped the most, tarnished their colleagues' reputations and didn't have the guts or the competence to speak up when they knew the wrong decisions were being made. If you need a job, by all means go work for MEDNAX. A job is a job. But if you're looking for a career and think you'll actually have the opportunity to grow and learn, you'd be better off literally anywhere else.
