Pros

* It doesn't take much work to look really smart and competent here. * The people at the company are, nearly without fail, very nice and easy to work with. Every place has its exceptions, but they are few and far between at PML. * The location is convenient to the PA Turnpike, and is great if you don't want to work in the city and pay city wage tax. The retirement benefits are pretty good, but used to be great and were recently cut quite drastically. * One day per week telecommuting is available to many employees.

Cons

* It doesn't take much work to look really smart and competent here. * It's too hard to get fired at the company. There's plenty of dead wood. * The technology used by the IT department is very antiquated. The applications are based on very old frameworks, if a framework at all, and there's little official support for newer technologies. You have to drive those initiatives yourself. Also, the waterfall system of development is a way of life here, and there are design documents inches thick to prove it.

Pros

Base salary is standard within the industry and the benefits package is strong. The annual bonus is a genuine differentiator in total compensation. The work itself offered real opportunities to build technical skills, particularly for those in data and analytics roles, with access to projects that should have a meaningful business impact.

Cons

Organizational restructuring has been a recurring theme, creating uncertainty around team stability and long-term role security. Communication from senior leadership during periods of change was inconsistent, making it difficult to plan or feel confident in the direction of the company. Employees may find themselves in limbo when priorities shift at the leadership level.
