Pros

I was able to acquire more responsibilities that related to my skills; I was not limited to what the last person in my position was capable of. My coworkers were friendly and I looked forward to seeing them every day. I had my own office and a good benefits package. Penn State contributed to my retirement fund while I was there, and I was able to keep my fund after leaving.

Cons

The school is so huge, sometimes it feels like you don't make a difference. But if you get involved on committees it helps. This isn't about my job in particular, but about the town: It gets so cold in State College, and there are of course college students everywhere. Not a great town for cuisine, but there are some good finds.

Pros

Amazing hours and pay. Everyone is extremely friendly. It does not get too crowded most of the time during the summer. Free access to the gym as well.

Cons

Do not have anything negative to say

Pros

Decent Benefits, Nice Amounts of Time off

Cons

Staff are the lowest of the totem pole and you KNOW it. Pay not enough to live by yourself as a working adult in State College Area. Will waste your time if there's nothing to do by requiring you to sit there while faculty and admin get to "work from home" (they really don't) President Benepudi will probably give herself 2 more $1.5 million pay increases while you work there unable to afford a simple apartment by yourself.
