Pros

The pay at PSU is enough to save a little money and get you by without much worry or struggling. Plus, they make sure your education comes before your job. If a professor assigns you too much work, you will usually be able to reduce your work load as a TA without having to get higher ups involved. They want you to do well.

Cons

You typically find out which class you are helping to teach about a week before the semester starts. It would be nice to know further ahead of time.

Pros

Decent Benefits, Nice Amounts of Time off

Cons

Staff are the lowest of the totem pole and you KNOW it. Pay not enough to live by yourself as a working adult in State College Area. Will waste your time if there's nothing to do by requiring you to sit there while faculty and admin get to "work from home" (they really don't) President Benepudi will probably give herself 2 more $1.5 million pay increases while you work there unable to afford a simple apartment by yourself.
