Pros
The fellow therapists are incredible, hard-working people who commit to client care and are solid colleagues and supportive individuals. The clinical supervisors are good people, but because of ridiculous demands and responsibility, their focus is administrative and punitive rather than clinical. Working with the clients is quite rewarding. I have some incredible clients and families.
Cons
The management team, although well-intentioned, really haven't the slightest clue what their staff goes through on a daily basis. Rather than focusing on client care, the management focuses on productivity and audit-proofing charts, with an extremely punitive environment. Direct service providers are burnt out, overworked, not listened to or supported and many are anxious and in fear of losing their jobs. This is unfortunate as they work unbelievably hard and are passionate about their work and clients. Clinical supervisors are fine, but could do better if allowed to actually do their jobs and conduct clinical supervision rather than administrative deadlines and unrealistic expectations.
