Pros

This company is huge on promoting from within and after a year on the job the benefits are decent. They do a great 401k also. Local management is fantastic, but once you get up to the big-wigs, they don't care about the employees. You're just a number which is unfortunate since everyone works really hard below them.

Cons

Upper management, (since it's a corporately run dealership network) don't have a tendency to really car about employee satisfaction. They do an annual employee satisfaction index and survey, and seem to always "butter" you up right before those are released. A lot of my co-workers and peers have left the company after 10+ years at the company stating that they did used to care and do a lot to make employees feel like more than just a member of the herd. Definitely need to address how they are treating the employees and do less threatening and much less "condition of employment" talks with people who dedicate 90 hours a week to making the company money.

Pros

I do not have any pros for Penske.

Cons

Their HR department does not hold their managers accountable for the abuse they are causing onto their employees. Being told to "remember to clock out" for lunch because we always have to work through our lunches is so small compared to all the other issues that occur in Penske. HR chooses not do anything to help their employees when they report something. They realistically do not care whatsoever that extreme misconduct occurs. They also don't ever care to explain the benefits that may be necessary for work/life stress balance except for one quick second at Power Up. HR does not tell you anything to set you up for success.
