Decent job, okay pay, awful environment - Production Machine Operator Perdue Employee Review

Pros

Decent benefits, 401k with employer matching, insurance, and all the hours you could ever want. If you want to work 7 days a week every week they will literally let you, and they will make sure you *really* work every one of those days. The harder you work, the more work they will put on your back. So if you don't like to work hard it's very easy for you to simply not perform your job well or at all and they'll likely make someone like me do your job and even let you watch them do your job while you smirk and laugh about how easy your job is because other people are willing to work hard.

Cons

Very unflexible with scheduling, long shifts and very little time off. My shift was 0630-1730 and often had to work 6 days a week, occasionally would work two weeks straight without a day off. Very toxic work environment, leadership doesn't hear complaints and most often responds with something that turns blame back around on the employee seeking counsel. Pay isn't worth the labor in many cases. Box packers, palletizers, and sanitation associates are all worked like slaves for the lowest wages in the plant. There is a reason turnover rate is astronomical.
