Pros
Wonderful and talented co-workers. Small office allows you to get experience in a lot of different things. Cool product.
Cons
Super old-school mentality, highly-controlling from the top down, and a lot of micro-managing. Management spends more time trying to cater to the CEO’s tantrums than trying to put out good product. General unwillingness to change with the times, or provide employees with anything other than the bare minimum. Recruitment process was very odd and dishonest (was asked to accept the offer on the spot with no time to consider, and they would not provide me an offer letter to review. Recruiter did not give me the full story on benefits). Benefits are mediocre at best. Salary is not particularly competitive, and there’s very little room for growth. The company’s general handling of COVID was terrible (and included a huge number of layoffs), despite having plenty of time to pivot. HR spent time sending emails telling us to drink hot water to kill the COVID virus and to take an elderberry supplement rather than figuring out how to set up working from home.
