Pros
Still have die-hard associates who live the culture of PetSmart. Still have a great product mix, passionate front-line associates, and great services. Focus is shifting more on the field which is a good thing in retail.
Cons
New leadership is ill-equipped to lead a great company. They are decent at doing non strategic work, although every new initiative that is rolling out was either IN THE WORKS already or had been discussed in last few years. The senior leadership team lacks the skills to lead people and engage them. Great place to be if you want to come in and just get work done. Highly talented leaders are vacating at a rapid rate, which only will leave sub-par performers. Good talent won't be attracted because of the sub par practices and 90s style leadership methodology. People being brought in via favoritism, and there is no longer a decent long term incentive that had existed in the past for Manager/Directors. Talent Development is no longer a focus, at least for next few years as the company focuses on driving for a successful IPO. Values that just rolled out could be the same 5 at any company, yet new leadership is heralding them as "new and important".
