Pros

It was a really good first job experience. The managers were always nice, they stayed professional even if stressed or annoyed, it made work definitely easier, (expect when you can tell they’re upset) It was fun and fast paced, some employees were fun to talk to, making the place more comfortable to be yourself

Cons

The General Manager generally cuts people’s hours based off of performance, many people got scheduled with people they weren’t working well with, I’m not sure if the GM was told this stuff but I would assume he would care about what his employees want at the bare minimum. Sometimes people call off because of personal issues or just because they don’t want to come in but either or, it shouldn’t make our hours get cut because of that, you call one day off and then your next week schedule is cut a day or two. Depends on how the GM feels that day, it gives inconsistent pay to rely on a paycheck Also expects up to stay later than scheduled to make sure everything is “in order” and when your hours get cut, they will then try to call you in instead of just scheduling because they were down a person. Once you put your two weeks in the GM barely schedules you as-well so you don’t get as much money that last paycheck. I was very dependent on when school was in session, I worked 28-30 hours per week and then once summer started I started getting scheduled less and less hours. I’ve also been told by many other managers that I am a great worker and I learned fast and I help others when it’s downtime, which doesn’t show at all on my scheduling. The employees also are very drama oriented, you can’t say anything without it going around

Pros

-Opportunities for flexible scheduling and pretty lenient on requesting days off -Can have a good culture with people feeling comfortable to express themselves -It does sometimes feel good to see families having fun -The typical duties needed to be done (speaking on behalf as someone who mainly does bussing and dish washing)

Cons

- From my experience, lack of professionalism is a huge source of annoyance for me. Your mileage may vary on the location, but I do not like seeing fellow coworkers blatantly on their phone, goofing off, knowing damn well someone else or even me are working - If you are a closer, the workload being based on the customer can sometimes feel BRUTAL. Be aware of the inconsistent nature of that role/shift. - You will have to put up with people that might get on your nerves or a manager that is stressed. Unfortunately, part of the job. Food service is not always fun. - Not a fan of working weekends. You tend to find out you can't do a lot of social related activities unless planned (speaking from the perspective of a closer)
