Pros
-Opportunities for flexible scheduling and pretty lenient on requesting days off
-Can have a good culture with people feeling comfortable to express themselves
-It does sometimes feel good to see families having fun
-The typical duties needed to be done (speaking on behalf as someone who mainly does bussing and dish washing)
Cons
- From my experience, lack of professionalism is a huge source of annoyance for me. Your mileage may vary on the location, but I do not like seeing fellow coworkers blatantly on their phone, goofing off, knowing damn well someone else or even me are working
- If you are a closer, the workload being based on the customer can sometimes feel BRUTAL. Be aware of the inconsistent nature of that role/shift.
- You will have to put up with people that might get on your nerves or a manager that is stressed. Unfortunately, part of the job. Food service is not always fun.
- Not a fan of working weekends. You tend to find out you can't do a lot of social related activities unless planned (speaking from the perspective of a closer)
