Pros

I made good friends there - still keep in contact with a few.

Cons

There was absolutely no feeling of job security for the 8 1/2 years I worked there. Then the company lost 3/4 of their business (along with a huge contract) and didn't seem to really be trying that hard to find more. I was upset at first for being let go on that New Year's Eve, though I had a friend let go 3 days before Christmas. After about 6 months of being separated, I felt as though I was recovering from "something". I felt more stress-free even though still unemployed. Also I had allergies from working there (it was a closed building with poor air circulation) which seemed within 4 months after separation to magically clear up. I was Nationally Certified (CPhT) which meant very little. Raises were puny - took me 4 years to clear a dollar more than hired. PTO (which you earned!) was generous, but if you had to use it as opposed to requesting it in advance, you were penalized with points. So if you had to use it and it added up to 8 points (or 6; or 9; or 10 - it changed at managements' whim) you were in danger of being fired. Insurance sucked, too, when the gov. required everyone to be covered - one choice or nothing and be fined by the IRS when before we had at least 3 tiers.

Pros

What stands out most is the organization’s clear commitment to improving long-term care pharmacy services—not just operationally, but in how care is delivered to patients. There is a strong focus on quality, patient safety, and continuous improvement, which makes the work both meaningful and impactful. Leadership is engaged and forward-thinking, with a genuine emphasis on building strong teams and empowering individuals to contribute. I’ve especially appreciated the collaborative environment and the ability to make a real difference while helping shape processes and outcomes. PharMerica is also investing in its people—creating opportunities for growth, development, and innovation across roles. For anyone looking to be part of a team that is evolving, values accountability, and is focused on delivering better care, this is a great place to build a career. Overall, a dynamic and purpose-driven organization with a strong future ahead.

Pros

One of the things that interests me most about PharMerica is the opportunity to support patients in long-term care settings while continuing to grow professionally. I appreciate that the company offers career development opportunities, educational support, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care. With my background in pharmacy and customer service, I believe I can contribute to providing accurate, compassionate service while continuing to learn and grow within the organization.

Cons

Some employees have reported challenges with management communication or consistency in leadership styles. As with many large organizations, experiences can vary by location and department. Having clear communication and a supportive manager can make a significant difference in the work
