Pros

PCC used to be a good place to get supervision hours, but I would advise you to stay away as they will ask you to do things that put your license at risk. This is the reason that myself, another clinician, and at least two nurses left.

Cons

Horrible and incompetent management. An unethical company, that is primarily numbers driven. They've been consistently losing employees for the last 2- 3 years to the point that they can't provide certain services anymore. I left last year during what can be described as a mass exodus. I even watched a few employees throw tantrums and quit only to be accepted back the next week (all of them eventually left for good.) I'm writing this review now to warn others because I've been made aware recently that the same unethical practices are still going. PCC isntt even rated on Guidestar or Charity Navigator and their 990s show business decisions that are at the very least questionable and suspicious. Most of the"clincians" and other mid level staff are barely qualified ( meaning they have the bare minimum of the state requirements of education and training to do their jobs ) which is what PCC wants to be able to pay them the least while maximizing their own profits. Some current employees have degrees that are worthless, since they aren't accredited. I've even seen some current employees who portray themselves as doctors online and on social media even though their degrees are essentially worthless and come from institution that don't have genuine accreditation. PCCs incompetence is only matched by their unethical practices. All of this for low pay and horrible benefits. I speak for at least 8-10 other employees that watched resign before I left. Find former employees(espcially all them that have resigned in the last 2+years) via social media and I guarantee you that all of them will agree with my review. Both potential employees and potential clients should stay away!

Pros

Working at Phoenix Counseling Center has been a rewarding experience. The organization is truly mission-driven and focused on improving access to behavioral health services in the community. You can tell that leadership cares deeply about both the clients served and the employees who make the work possible. One of the things I appreciate most is the collaborative environment. Staff across programs work together to support one another, and there is a strong sense of purpose in the work we do every day. Leadership is approachable and open to feedback, and there are ongoing efforts to improve processes, expand services, and invest in staff development. Phoenix also provides opportunities to learn and grow professionally. Employees are encouraged to bring ideas forward, participate in trainings, and contribute to improving programs that support individuals and families in our community. Working in behavioral health can be challenging at times, but it is also incredibly meaningful. Being part of an organization that is committed to helping people during some of the most difficult moments in their lives makes the work worthwhile.

Cons

Like many nonprofits in behavioral health, resources can sometimes be limited, but leadership works hard to improve systems and support staff.
