Pros

Flight benefits, if you ever get time off to actually use them. Health insurance is decent.

Cons

Doing twice the work of mainline for half the pay, getting yelled at by managers for a plane leaving four seconds late, getting yelled at by other rampers that don't give a crap anymore for not loading bags in a broken cargo bin, getting yelled at by bag runners (who were late because they were playing blackjack in the breakroom) for not reopening the cargo bins to load their bags on when we're actively pushing back from the gate, getting yelled at by passengers for not letting them sneak their oversize bags onboard... the list goes on and on. No work-life balance if you're full time, and you need about, let's say 7 years of seniority to get a part-time schedule at bidding time. I was also more or less lied to about the ease of going mainline at my time of hire-- it turns out PT is having such a hard time holding on to people that they've stopped letting AA poach their employees. There are good employees in the company, but far too many that only do the bare minimum of their job and somehow manage to not get fired. I was basically offered a position in management just for being a half-decent employee when they had a manager shortage. I considered it, if only for the massive pay raise, but decided that even $40k per year wasn't worth the stress of having to manage a mess like that, and quit instead. Best decision I ever made.

Pros

Free food sometimes. Flight benefits.

Cons

The people ruin the experience of working for Piedmont. You will face a lot of lazy types who try to blame others for their laziness and incompetence. If you have a good work ethic you will just be rewarded with more work here. This place specifically sets you up for failure with incompetence, rudeness, and gaslighting, conveniently "forgetting" policies they say they never agreed to in the first place, even if it's documented. People steal things constantly, whether it's equipment or lunch out of the breakroom fridges. Management is inept and clueless to what is actually going on. Trust no one at this company. Avoid it altogether.
