The work is challenging. No two days are ever the same. There is so much work to do, you're never bored.

Cons

Politics are everywhere. However, I learned that working for the Sheriff's Office throws one right into the middle of the political world, whether you want to be or not.

It was exciting to see such a smooth onboarding process for employees. For a rural county I believe they are doing what they can to their best efforts. The County is technologically advanced. The culture is great, I was welcomed into a new transition period and was able to accumulate quickly and provide assistance for the department as needed.

Cons

Turnover is high and frequent. Which means picking up the slack to help the department.
