Pros

I recently joined PitchBook UK (London) after spending a number of years at the Seattle Global HQ and NYC PitchBook locations. It's been a great experience throughout the different offices I've had the pleasure of working at. The atmosphere and people at each of the locations couldn't be better, I enjoyed going to the office each and every day. The potential for career growth is unparalleled, with the startup mentality, there is a number of moving parts and new positions being created every day. The PitchBook team is very ambitious group globally. Being a part of the PitchBook team will push you towards achieving your full potential. I'm excited to see what lies ahead.

Cons

The startup mentality and moving parts that comes along with it may not be for everyone. It does require a level of comfort in attacking the moving parts and making each role your own. Taking initiative and identifying ways to improve or enhance the role you're in, will go a long ways at PItchBook.

Pros

Solid product, talented peers, and meaningful exposure to the private markets. You can build useful skills in account management and other customer-facing roles. Many individual contributors are smart, capable, and supportive of one another.

Cons

The biggest risk here is not the product or the day-to-day work - it is leadership. In some offices and teams, senior leaders create an environment where trust is low, expectations are inconsistent, and favoritism or perception can matter more than performance. Instead of clear direction and constructive support, employees are often left dealing with shifting standards, mixed messages, and a culture where appearances matter too much. Basic respect is not always there, and some leaders rely on intimidation rather than good management. Speaking up, asking questions, or challenging something professionally does not always help and can sometimes work against you. This is especially hard on strong performers. Taking on more usually leads to more pressure, not more support or recognition. Once leadership forms a negative view of someone, it can be difficult to change, even when that person is delivering results. Over time, the environment can feel political, discouraging, and draining. The result is predictable: burnout, disengagement, and avoidable turnover. A number of talented people have left not because they were incapable, but because the leadership culture made the job unsustainable.

Pros

PitchBook offers a unique employee experience that goes beyond the typical “perks.” A 6- week sabbatical after four years is a great example of long term investment. There’s also a commitment to philanthropy. From a leadership-supported global week of volunteering to ongoing giving and community initiatives, employees are encouraged (and empowered) to make an impact beyond their day-to-day roles. My leaders have been supportive when it comes to testing ideas, building programs, and collaborating across teams. Add in a wide range of engaging events and opportunities to connect, and it creates an environment where you can grow both professionally and personally.

Cons

Like many companies navigating today’s rapidly changing landscape: economic shifts, AI advancements, and global complexity, PitchBook is evolving. With that growth comes change, and not every decision will land perfectly. Some employees may feel nostalgic for “how things used to be,” but the reality is that scaling organizations need to adapt. The company is maturing, and with that comes new structures, expectations, and ways of working. RTO policies are a common point of discussion, which reflects broader industry trends. While it may not align with everyone’s preferences, there is a clear intention to build connection, collaboration, and culture in-person.
