Pros
Good foundation of the private markets. Good job out of college. Exposure and ability to speak to leaders across the financial ecosystem. Top-tier product and research center that you can learn a great deal on the public/private markets.
Cons
I, among my entire team, have cemented the term “moving the goalposts” into our brains. Near weekly meetings pop up with nearly every single leader on the sales team where the same issues are repeated, rephrased, or regurgitated — resulting in false hope, rumors or absolutely no changes. Obvious struggles are seen for the BDA level where those who are promoted from SDR leave/want to leave immediately as they find better roles with outlined, upward mobility. It is easy to see as there is literally zero management, lower-pay, a quota that has changed endless times (back to first point). Most importantly, the mere idea of success is insurmountable no matter how hard you produce high output/hit quota or want to, but fall short… simply set up to fail as the goalpost seems to be floating somewhere in the Hudson River, not in MetLife. PitchBook is known.. quite literally by anyone touching the finance realm. Unbelievable product and research that thousands leverage but as the leadership decisions fail week over week, there needs to be a change. The product is no longer selling itself and the TAM needs to be figured out (not back of the napkin math) or I fear the term “industry leader” will become imposturous..
