Pros

We'll put the PTO as a pro *and* con, depending on what type of situation you're coming from. Federal holidays off is great, but doesn't stack up to some other generous PTO plans.

Cons

If you've ever worked for an employer that prides itself on inclusivity, you may be familiar with having an African-American club/board/group, or perhaps Asian, or LGBTQ+. That will not be the case at PCB. Expect to work with mostly conservative white guys, whose politics bleed into the workplace. Black history month and pride month go unmentioned, for fear of upsetting the good ol' boys. In a post-COVID world, many employers are seeing the value of a work-from-home setup, even if it's alternating days. Saves money, increases morale, etc etc. Not PCB. Though you will likely have a laptop that remotes into their secure VPN, do not expect leniency on this situation. PCB used to be a smaller bank, with a more family-feeling culture. As they've grown and been acqured by Hilltop Holdings, this has been unsustainable. The culture committee does their best, but mostly this amounts to cookies in the break room on the Friday before holidays. Since you work for a bank, expect to have all federal holidays off-- great! The PTO is also fair once entrenched, but does not keep pace with the tech industry's "unlimited PTO" idea. Pay is meager-- expect to make below market average compared to other banks in your area. HR will be wholly unwilling to budge in this department. That aspect is likely coming from even higher than them, and is the PRIMARY source of lack-of-morale. It is the most often heard complaint from my peers and co-workers. If you're the type of person who wants to go to the office, clock in, do what is asked, and go home, this might be a good fit for you. If you're looking for a more agile, diverse workplace, definitely look elsewhere.

Pros

Great work life balance. Very flexible with appointments or other needs outside of the office. Great benefits (PTO, medical, etc.) Lots of company events and free lunches are a bonus. Company is great to work for overall. Very easy to scale your way up and they push you to grow. Love the culture as well.

Cons

Most of the work we do can be done from home but do not offer WFH. Pay is not that much compared to other banks.
