Pros
Plethora is a great place to work. We're working on exciting technology that addresses a real need in the world. It's nice in San Francisco to be working at a technology company whose output is real objects you can hold in your hand. I love that if I need a break from coding, I can go check out what's happening on the factory floor, or go work on a project in the wood shop or welding shop. Better even than the work are the people. From the founders to the newest employees, everyone here is interesting, thoughtful and excited to be working together towards our goals.
Cons
We're young and growing quickly, so you definitely need to be ok with a certain amount of uncertainty. We don't have big company perks like an on-site juice-bar or fitness classes (although we do have a killer hobby shop, see above). The neighborhood we're in (South Dogpatch / North Bayview) doesn't have a lot going on, but that's actually improving pretty quickly.
