Communication is siloed due to lack of trust with leaders, engineers, product, and QA/QE are afraid of saying the wrong thing because they will be chastised for it. Engineering leaders emphasizes JIRA ticket completion over meaningful outcomes. No discussion about value delivery, only about burndown and velocity. Emphasizes asynchronous collaboration (no meetings whatsoever) to a fault (just stand-up each day). This is coming from someone who hates meetings themselves! E.g. If you schedule a meeting with a developer to discuss a ticket outside of refinement (e.g. after it's pulled into a sprint), prepare for a barrage of questions and criticisms from the Engineering Manager. Not agile, but claims to be, making it unnecessarily challenging to complete simple tasks, and a surprising amount of resistance to complete valuable work that requires cross-team dependencies.
