Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on the Firm. We’re pleased that you thought Point72 was filled with smart people and was a vibrant, growing place, although were were surprised to see the Firm characterized as “a very high turnover place.” Last year, less than 5 % of our staff left Cubist voluntarily or involuntarily. While some individual teams may have different turnover rates, we think it’s fair to characterize turnover here as very low compared to others in the industry. Cubist makes an extraordinary effort to attract and retain our employees. We carefully select new hires and take time to understand what their personal and career goals are. We know that one of the key ingredients for building a successful research environment is long-term stability, which we support by offering our employees the opportunity to add to their skills and build a career our Firm.

Pros

Excellect company culture, beautiful offices, very good compensation and benefits, amazing opportunities for professional development

Cons

Very fast paced and innovative with high expectations, if you aren't a fast learner and highly adaptive you won't last here. It's a hedge fund so be prepared for some serious egos, but generally speaking the people are quite nice. They don't have a CFO, so it sometimes feels like central coordination/strategy is lacking to the back office finance function.

Pros

Smart people always willing to help Great benefits/pay/lunch stipend etc. Collegiate environment, most analysts are in their mid- late-20's

Cons

Work can become repetitive - same coverage for multiple years at a time speaking to the same people Limited work life balance (but its a hedge fund so you should expect that going in) A lot of micromanagement/bureaucracy. Too many cooks in the kitchen overseeing work, can make the research process tedious
