Decent, with potential to improve but some growth pains. - Associate Polsinelli Employee Review

Pros

Everyone is decent, I haven't met anyone with an unpleasant personality; I don't feel too pressured with regard to hours, and receive reasonable but not extensive feedback on work product; the new building in Kansas City is attractive.

Cons

Not as highly paid as other law firms. Still operates like a medium-small sized Kansas City firm despite recent national growth. Offices do not always share work effectively. There is a policy against "dabbling" in multiple practice areas, which means that attorneys cannot develop complementary skills, or fill hourly requirements when their primary group slows down. This is inefficient, and shows that the management's fear of risk outweighs a desire for diversity. Also, the internal power structure is not always clearly expressed.
