Pros
-The clients are amazing. I have really enjoyed working with the families. -I have liked quite a few of my supervisors and the other RBTs I have met. -The schedule can be flexible and is really good for a college student looking for after school work. -The overall work setting is relatively relaxed and can be very fun. -No strict dress code so you can dress comfortably. -The hourly pay is decent.
Cons
-You don't get paid when someone cancels. -You only get maybe 20 hours of PTO which is honestly nothing. -They will not give you a raise when you reach your one year unless you push for it. -Once you submit your resignation letter, they stop providing the support and care you deserve. -Hours can be hard to come by and you often work less than you want. Most kids are only available after school and thus it is almost impossible to be full time. -It can be super lonely. You are in their homes without a coworker besides your supervisor who might be there once a week for an hour or two. -Some kids have high behaviors which can lead to burnout. -Communication can be really good or really bad. Depends on your supervisors and families. -High turn over rate -Telehealth supervision -The data collection system is often being updated causing crashes and making learning the system difficult.
