Pros

Met some cool people. Enjoyed meeting different homeowners when they were in a good mood. They donate to Alex’s Lemonade Stand which is pretty neat.

Cons

It’s all a scam. You won’t be there long and the turnover is crazy. Do not take this job, you are worth more than this place. Get ready to put miles and miles on your car without any reimbursement. Which is total crap considering you drive over 30 miles a day to neighborhoods where you might not even get a lead. So many things are out of your control to earn money. A “lead” that you might spend over an hour trying to convince that they need windows will go through so much screening (ex. Credit checks) and they might never get the windows. The company says that they put you in neighborhoods every single day that will give you equal opportunity to get leads and make money but that is where Power fools you. There’s no way that you will have solid opportunities every single day for 20+ people. And then there it are the elements that you work in: you walk anywhere. In bad neighborhoods, beside busy highways, in hurricanes, tornado warnings, heat waves and frigid temps. And yes, right now you might think that you can do that every day. And you probably can, but you get burnt out very easily. Doing that every day, INCLUDING SATURDAYS is tough. And you might think you can do it, No problem, but I promise you that you will get burned out with it. You will be in neighborhoods where you are not welcome. Homeowners take “NO SOLICITING” very seriously, and they have a right to do so. And yet, Power ignores that. That is disrespecting neighborhoods and homeowners and guess who takes the brunt of that, YOU. Leadership likes to talk you all up - and you will believe it all at first. You will think that they are honest and really do want you to succeed. But no, the minute you struggle with hitting your number of leads you get per day, your time starts to see how long you will last. And real talk, Mike (the manager over the door-to-door salespeople) is a scam as well. The more you make, the more his paycheck grows. He just wants to see the numbers, like most companies. But this place will kick you off the ship instantly if your numbers struggle. And everyone gets kicked off - because they do not give you solid opportunities (neighborhoods) every single day to earn those numbers. Power is really creative - and they use it to hype people up, only to figure out later that it was all lies. (Also that all-expenses paid trip to Mexico? It’s not free. You have to hit BIG BIG goals to go on that trip so I wouldn’t bank on it.) Only two or three people has been there for over a year? Yeah that’s ridiculous, that’s a job - not a career. And to whoever reads this, you are worth more than a job.

Pros

Power has been one of the few companies where I've genuinely felt invested in as both a professional and a person. I joined after retiring from a 21-year Air Force career, looking to challenge myself in a completely different industry. The transition wasn't easy, but I was surrounded by people who coached, mentored, and pushed me to improve. The company provides meaningful access to leadership, promotes from within, and creates opportunities for employees to grow beyond their job descriptions. I've developed technical skills in project management and construction while also continuing to grow as a leader through mentoring others and helping improve training. One of the biggest differentiators is the culture. Through the Black Empowerment Resource Group (BERG), I've had opportunities to lead initiatives, organize Black History Month and Juneteenth events, and build relationships with employees across departments. Combined with employee appreciation events, leadership development, and community involvement, it has created a strong sense of belonging that I haven't experienced elsewhere.

Cons

Power is a fast-paced, high-performance environment, and that isn't for everyone. Expectations are high, and the pace can be demanding, especially while learning a new role. As the company continues to grow, maintaining consistency in training, communication, and leadership development across offices will be important. There are times when processes evolve quickly, and ensuring employees have clear guidance and the right resources during those transitions will only strengthen the overall experience. This also means individuals need to stay actively invested in their own growth and in the scaling of the business to keep pace and succeed.

Pros

The training and support are second to none. There is a clear investment in developing employees, and leadership is always available to coach and help you improve. The culture is competitive in a healthy way—everyone is encouraged to perform at a high level, but one person’s success doesn’t come at the expense of someone else’s. There are plenty of opportunities for advancement if you’re willing to put in the work, and I appreciated being trusted with growth opportunities early in my time here.

Cons

The performance standards are high, and the role isn’t for everyone. It can be stressful at times because your results are measured closely, but the expectations are communicated clearly.
