Leadership in some departments lacks the vision, skill, or willingness to adapt, leading to dysfunction and stagnation. Many long-tenured employees (20+ years) operate with minimal accountability and resist change, stifling innovation. Operational breakdowns like unpaid bills regularly stall projects and disrupt momentum. Excessive studies and committees are formed, yet they rarely lead to meaningful action or results. Overworking is common; without firm boundaries, burnout is inevitable. Internal power dynamics and unchecked egos can create a toxic work environment—some individuals act with inflated authority that's out of sync with their actual impact or relevance outside PVAMU.
