Pros

PHE provides a unique opportunity to do stimulating academic-quality research outside academia. You get an opportunity to delve into important and influential policy questions. Company has a flexible policy on working remotely. Compensation is competitive. There is so much potential for this to be an awesome place to work.

Cons

Work-life balance does not exist, even though this is what they promise. Unlike other consulting firms that admit that work-life balance does not exist in consulting, PHE blatantly lies about it. Commuication failures are systemic due to the contrived hierarchy and woefully siloed "departments." It is ironic that a company whose only assets are its workforce, puts its workers the bottom of its priorities.

Pros

Unlimited time off, flexibility in schedule, great culture within the PM department, fully remote work, opportunity to grow within the company through promotions every 2-3 years

Cons

Very low pay scale. 40-60K a year is hardly a livable wage anymore. Promotions can take longer than needed and everyone is basically just doing the same job, just some have a higher title/pay. The late nights can be brutal. Staying on past 11pm on a Friday night, with no overtime.
