- It’s been pretty clear maintaining culture when we’re all working from home has been a challenge for the Precoa brass. It may depend on what team you’re on, but I’m pretty alienated from the rest of the company.
- Right before quarantine began, our yearly compensation conversations were beginning. They were put on hold as everything became so unsure and now, nearly nine months later, the conversation hasn’t been picked up. I’m looking at having to heat my drafty apartment while I work from home all winter and have been picking up incidental costs such as coffee, food, internet, and electricity, yet I’m making the same pay I made when I started. I’m working so much harder to make sure our new virtual initiatives keep us going, as well as out of fear that I’d be deemed dispensable. So not only am I working harder than someone at my pay grade would, I’m incurring so many of the incidental costs which the company would typically absorb.
Yet there’s been no discussion of compensation. It’s clear the company is in good standing, as they haven’t had to lay anyone off, and they like to share their wins and windfalls with us, yet we’re still making bargain basement wages.
