Pros

This company is a great stepping stone to something else, especially when you're fresh out of college. You can get what you make of it-push yourself and you get more. They have a fun, social environment. People are friendly and enjoyable to work with. The management believes in their vision and have a lot of enthusiasm. They are very successful in their field. Flexible work schedule, easy to take time off, work from home a few days. You have a lot of freedom and not a lot of micromanagement. Salaries seem appropriate.

Cons

Precoa management is a tight knit circle of mostly 30-something male BYU-grad buddies who are either family, missionary buddies, or a past connection. There isn't a very convenient ladder to climb. In most departments there is the bottom level, maybe one or two middle level supervisors with little additional responsibility or power from the bottom level, and then the top level (VP). The management makes most of the strategic decisions without involving the people within their departments. The department employees are simply technicians to execute the strategy that they are uninvolved in. Things as simple as marketing campaigns are not created by the marketing department but rather the group of VPs. So most initiatives begin with a lot of enthusiasm and steam but fizzle out unachieved. That group of VPs consists of guys who came straight out of their undergrad, few received advanced degrees or had much other work experience before this. That worked out well to get a startup off the ground, but now it seems time to expand to people with more experience and leadership. They have difficulty having the hard conversations with employees which could lead to improvement or even politely letting someone go, rather making little comments here and there until the employees senses how unappreciated they are and lets themselves out the door. There is a lack of respect to the employees demonstrated even down to the fact that management is typically VERY late for every meeting or even misses the meeting that requires their absolute involvement to make any decisions (as referenced above). And managers are hard to find and not very involved with their departments to review work etc. Company parties and lunches are just not enough to keep the morale high when employees lack mentorship, investment, and growth opportunities from their manager. The very talented people move on within a few years. Take note that the people that have been there the longest are mostly complacent people happy to settle for a basic paycheck. Overall stay at Precoa as long as it benefits you and no longer.
