Pros

Work-life balance is part of Premera's culture. I have never been asked to work long hours or weekends. We actually get discouraged from doing so. People are really friendly. Even though Health Insurance industry is seen as a conglomerate of heatless monsters, Premera strives to do the right thing for members.

Cons

Too many meetings. People just love to talk and talk and talk before any decisions are made. And because of being so meeting oriented, teleccomuting is also uncommon. Middle management seems very weak. It is rare that people who are directly managing associates are strong performers. That creates a layer of bureacracy where often the upper management vision isn't translated well by middle management to people doing the actual work. Premera is also very conservative and innovation adverse.

Pros

Remote job Good pay Decent Benefits

Cons

Overbearing, toxic management who don't really care about you as a person and your health, it's all about getting those numbers, I'm guessing that is how they receive their bonuses. People on the "team" who are not nurses makes you question why they needed some that were RN's. Unclear goal, unsure what it is that this position actually does for their members. Micromanagement.
