Pros
For me, working close to home is my most important benefit. The no-commute is closely followed by the opportunity to work with extraordinary colleagues There is pride (but not excessive) in Premera's physical image--the campus is very nice and well-maintained. I have been able to expand my tech abilities thanks to abundant IT support
Cons
With health care being such a divisive socio-political issue, it is challenging to be a champion for an insurance company (even though Premera issues my paycheck). The stress to perform beyond expectations to recieve high performance appraisal marks is not healthy. This seems to be a company that does respect work-life balance as the workload for myself and all other members of my team has been overwhelming.
