Premera's not a bad place to work, but there's a lot of room for improvement. - Management Analyst Premera Blue Cross Employee Review

Pros

Most associates are extremely competent and do excellent work. The one's that do not perform at a high level usually stand out after a while and either they make some improvements or leave. Most of the Officers and Directors who have been with the company >2 years are quite good at what they do and generally look out for their reports.

Cons

A recent hiring of a few Directors from outside of the company are NOT a good fit for the company and are causing quite a bit of dischord within their ranks. 360 Review of Officers & Directors is not anonymous, being honest about a bad Director could be career limiting and encourages problems to be ignored. Salary administration runs counter to retaining quality employees. Capping the salary increase to 12% when an employee moves up 2+ pay grades discourages ambition. To get a decent raise one often has to leave the company then come back.

Pros

Remote job Good pay Decent Benefits

Cons

Overbearing, toxic management who don't really care about you as a person and your health, it's all about getting those numbers, I'm guessing that is how they receive their bonuses. People on the "team" who are not nurses makes you question why they needed some that were RN's. Unclear goal, unsure what it is that this position actually does for their members. Micromanagement.
