Pros
We have no internal meetings once a month.
Cons
I typically take a balanced and fair approach when reviewing employers but my experience with Presence (formerly PresenceLearning) leaves me with no other choice but to award them a single star. I hope my review sheds some light on the challenges I've faced during my tenure with this company. Firstly, the management structure at Presence is disorganized at best and nonexistent at worst. There seems to be no clear chain of command, and the lines of responsibility are often blurred. This results in considerable confusion when it comes to knowing who to report to or who is accountable for decision making. Secondly, the communication within the organization is disheartening. Vital information often trickles down to the employees too late, if at all. This lack of transparency doesn't inspire trust and fosters a culture of secrecy and whispers, which is far from conducive to a healthy working environment. Thirdly, the work-life balance here is in critical need of re-evaluation. The expectation to be 'always on' is simply not sustainable or healthy. Many employees, myself included, have found themselves working late into the night and over weekends on a regular basis, without any acknowledgment or compensation. Moreover, the compensation is not competitive, and the lack of opportunities for career advancement only exacerbates this issue. Despite the company's insistence on continuous learning and growth, there are virtually no avenues for real professional development. Lastly, the tech infrastructure is woefully inadequate. For a company that promotes itself as a leader in teletherapy, the frequent technical glitches and poor platform performance are embarrassing. The technical issues have not only impeded work efficiency but also negatively impacted service delivery to our clients. All these issues combine to create an incredibly high-stress, low-reward working environment. While the mission of the company is noble, the execution and internal culture are severely lacking. I genuinely hope that management takes these critiques to heart and makes the necessary changes. Until then, I cannot in good faith recommend Presence as a suitable place to work.
