Cons
What is the value of Presidio? You'll constantly be asking yourself that question here. Other than calling vendors all the time asking if the deal is going to close, or trying to get margin out of deals we have no business getting. Managers doing nothing other than going through forecasts and asking where the deals are and saying stuff like "we gotta get deals in, we have to hit our monthly number"....not "how can i help? how are we helping our customers?" Managers here don't help, they just ask about deals. And that's because they just don't really know anything about being relevant with customers today and how to solve customer pain and provide value. Most have come from companies like Cisco or Dell where they just sold hardware from refreshes, so all they know about is doing that same stuff here, not how to actually have smart, relevant technology-related conversations about solving pain and aligning pain to business priorities. Don't expect to come here and learn anything that will help you in your sales career. There is no value-based selling here. It's just being a middle-man connecting vendors to customers and trying to help with procurement. Presidio is an old-schooled "VAR" (really just the R...lol) where their "value" is going out to dinners, drinking with customers and vendors and playing rounds of golf. Not providing any real value. Also, if you want to have 10% of your expenses come out of your paycheck then this is the place for you. No really....that wasn't a joke. Also, they were a publicly traded company with a flat stock that went back to private about two years ago. They aren't doing great financially and many of the smart and talented people have moved on recently. I should mention though that you definitely CAN make money here. But if you do make money, just expect one of the CEO's brothers (who are all executives in the company) to come out and say that he isn't making enough money and that HE is going to take 50% of your commission because his team did the work on the deal.... and that wasn't a joke....
