Pros
I only have a few things I can think of: the flexibility you have as a rep that goes away when you become a manager(don't become a manager if you value your Saturdays) I did become a store manager within about 9 months after being hired
Cons
I have so much but I'm gonna keep it simple: Constant false promises Impossible to get straight answers on anything The reps are treated better than the managers As a rep you have more free time but you don't make enough to enjoy that time. As a manager you have even less time but you have a little more money. Are you a manager who wants a Friday or Saturday off? Good luck unless you have PTO or stick time. If you don't, and you don't get 7 and a half hours in each day the district manager's pay check is effected. You are expected to straddle the grey line and sometimes even cross over it when it comes to fraud. This is one of the reasons I wanted to become a manager. I wanted to try change things. Last minute schedule changes happened frequently under the new manager at the store I came from before becoming manager Unprofessional. If you want to learn how to sell the right way this is not the place to go. They teach a lot of slight of hand. Example: account has 4 lines on premium. Let's say that costs them $200 a month. You build a quote based on their current bill. Then you start adding any discounts. After you've added the discounts you drop their other plans to cheaper plans. The idea is to remove enough features where they can show the customer that even though they're adding internet or a new line or whatever else they want to sell to the customer they'll still be saving money or paying about the same.
