Management is Garbage - Sales Associate Prime Communications Employee Review

Pros

Working at Prime Communications was one of the most nightmarish experiences of my professional carrier. The company was seemingly founded on the basis of fraudulent practices and shafting employees of all benefits.

Cons

- This is a highly irresponsible and unethical company. - Management is extremely disorganized. - Management is careful to not explicitly state, but to cautiously imply that employees must commit fraud in order to meet outlandish sales goals. - Current sales goals have become even more outlandish considering the downward trend of the overall market. - Management often looks for creative ways to deprive employees of overtime pay while still working overtime hours. - If you quit, you are not paid out commission from the last two months you worked. - Your sales sometimes magically disappear in a system "glitch" causing you to go under your quota, depriving you of your bonus and messing with your metrics and you are never reimbursed. - Their employee portal is about as bad as the CCP's Great Firewall in that messages are heavily monitored and any sort of negative sentiment is deleted. - Benefits like tuition reimbursement and 401k matching are promised but never delivered. I'm extremely surprised that these crooks are still in business. I suggest anyone thinking of working at Prime to work at a corporate store instead.

Pros

Solid day-to-day leadership experience with your team, you own the coaching and scheduling and get real reps developing people. Genuine autonomy in how you manage your employees day-to-day. Commission offers earning upside when the month breaks your way, and running a small store means a close team and a wide range of responsibilities that build a broad skill set.

Cons

Almost no real store-level autonomy, nearly everything runs through your DM, and you can't modify or change how the store operates on your own call. You don't control hiring or training; your input is limited to scheduling and coaching. You have authority over your team in every respect except the one that matters most, firing, because the DM prioritizes tenure over performance, since headcount tenure feeds his commission. And the commission structure is the real problem: it's so hypersensitive that virtually everything impacts your payout, which makes earnings feel unpredictable and outside your control no matter how well you actually manage.
