Pros

If you have a supervisor who is supportive and emotionally intelligent with open communication, you can develop a meaningful career with opportunities to learn from physicians and specialists.

Cons

Number one is the low pay. It offers the lowest salary in this field that I have seen. Second, is the management culture and communication style, not the dietitian work itself. Some managers prioritize chain of command over collaboration and communication is cold, corrective, dismissive and undermining. This can become difficult and draining to work with.

Pros

Magnet status, Diverse patient population allows for greater experience. Trauma 1, Comprehensive Stroke Center, teaching hospital, high investment in EPIC utilization

Cons

Level of education of many nurses there is low, no requirement for minimum BSN, staff is young, turns over, a lot. Frustrating at times. Management not the best communicators, no constructive feedback, perhaps spread to thinly to be effective.
