Pros

No pros specific to this employer.

Cons

There is a probability that this employer will discriminate. When a co-worker and I reported ongoing harassment, Management did not acknowledge our concerns. Harassment and unfair treatment was reported to Human Resources (HR); HR neglected to follow up to address concerns. Workplace hostility was reported to HR; HR did not reach out to investigate the report. I do NOT recommend filing complaints with HR and/or Management. Instead, file complaints with a Government Agency BEFORE filing an internal complaint. When salaried Management was irresponsible with the department budget, hourly employees were forced to reduce their hours to compensate for Management’s poor business practices. Although a very low portion of patients completed satisfactory surveys, a percentage of the raise was based on the surveys. The pay raise is also based on target goals that Management failed to define. Management also did not present an action plan for meeting target goals. All campuses are not equally resourced. Employees worked hard towards anticipated annual bonuses, but bonuses were stripped from hourly employees at the expense of healthcare monopolization and rebranding. While Donald Trump downplayed the impact of a growing global health crisis, the CEO of Prisma Health, Mark O’Halla, pledged his support by donating thousands of dollars to Trump Make America Great Again and Donald J. Trump For President, Inc. (Source: Federal Electoral Commision) When the global pandemic impacted Prisma Health, hundreds of employees were furloughed and their positions were eliminated.

Pros

Magnet status, Diverse patient population allows for greater experience. Trauma 1, Comprehensive Stroke Center, teaching hospital, high investment in EPIC utilization

Cons

Level of education of many nurses there is low, no requirement for minimum BSN, staff is young, turns over, a lot. Frustrating at times. Management not the best communicators, no constructive feedback, perhaps spread to thinly to be effective.
