Pros

Pay was better after getting bought out by Prisma

Cons

They "furloughed" or "laid off" (which translates to fired due to restructuring) hundreds of employees, while constantly pressuring staff to use cost saving measures because we were always running in the red. After hundreds of folks were forced to retire early or let go, they went and bought another hospital to add to their monopoly. The entire atmosphere at work changed after their hostile take over. Very tense and stressful daily. It was their way or the highway and they were quick to drop the hammer to achieve the results they wanted with absolutely no consideration for the staff at all. I never understood why they gave us a raise in October only to fire us in January. I guess so it looks better when you can say I was making this much even though it was only for a few months.

Pros

Magnet status, Diverse patient population allows for greater experience. Trauma 1, Comprehensive Stroke Center, teaching hospital, high investment in EPIC utilization

Cons

Level of education of many nurses there is low, no requirement for minimum BSN, staff is young, turns over, a lot. Frustrating at times. Management not the best communicators, no constructive feedback, perhaps spread to thinly to be effective.
