Pros

Working here will definitely open your eyes to the downfall of our healthcare system.

Cons

Covid unit for 3 years, no covid pay, no hazard pay, they took away shift differential, took our pto hours we earned, vastly increased workload, unsafe ratios, unsafe assignments, zero retention attempts for staff, toxic workplace, forced RN’s to float to areas outside of skillset, they do not care about staff, going up the chain of command to address problems falls on deaf ears and they only gaslight, company spends ridiculous $ on irrelevant things/items yet “not able” to supply basic necessities for patient care, administration and decision makers clearly have zero healthcare experience as feet on the ground working in the trenches, they ran faithful limited frontline staff deep into the ground (physically, mentally, and emotionally) for 3 years straight… only turning their backs to them.

Pros

Magnet status, Diverse patient population allows for greater experience. Trauma 1, Comprehensive Stroke Center, teaching hospital, high investment in EPIC utilization

Cons

Level of education of many nurses there is low, no requirement for minimum BSN, staff is young, turns over, a lot. Frustrating at times. Management not the best communicators, no constructive feedback, perhaps spread to thinly to be effective.
